Everyday Jewellery Stars

I wear a modest amount of jewellery most days – earrings, watch, a couple of rings, necklace, a couple of bracelets.

Most of the items I wear daily have a special significance for me. For example, a pair of earrings I wear every day are in the shape of a star; one of the rings I wear, a gift from my partner has a star on it.

Stars have a special significance for me because of my son Hugo. I sang Twinkle, Twinkle to him while he was in my tummy, and he loved to boogie to my singing while he was in his incubator. He is my little star, and always will be now he is in the stars.

I love that stars have become so symbolic that people I know often say stars now make me think of Hugo. It’s amazing that he lives on in the hearts of so many.

One of my most precious possessions is a star-shaped pendant bearing Hugo’s tiny handprint that I wear every single day. The star is now accompanied by a crescent moon filled with forget-me-nots in memory of Hugo’s little brother or sister who I sadly miscarried in July.

I believe in wearing and using things that are special to you, not keeping things for ‘best’. You might not be doing something special on a particular day, but every day is special – and who knows what might be around the corner? You might as well enjoy things, I think.

That said, the jewellery I wear every day needs to be practical. While I like pretty things, I am a no-faff kind of girl. I need to be able to get on and do things unencumbered.

Every day jewellery should be classic, and able to complement any outfit.

And while I like sparkly things, for every day jewellery should be understated.  I don’t want to go to the supermarket looking like a Christmas tree!

I love my beautiful mini noodle sparkle stars disc bracelet from the stunning collection by ChloBo.

In rose gold with a charm in a shape of a disc (or pendant) adorned with stars, I fell in love with it at first sight.

The bracelet is delicate yet robust. The ‘noodles’ provide the structure for the bracelet. Beneath the noodles the bracelet is elastic which means it is easy to slip on and off my wrist – no faffing with fiddly clasps – so perfect for hectic mornings.

The sparkle beads give a subtle shimmer, ideal for every day wear. The disc, with its array of stars shines and catches the light but is compact and never gets in the way.

The little disc pokes out from the cuff of my cardi – it’s like little Hugo stars popping out to say ‘hello’.

For most of my life I have been a fan of silver, but in recent years I have become a fan of rose gold. I love its warm hues. It is the perfect complement to my Radley watch. This bracelet is rose gold plated on silver.

These are some of my everyday jewellery stars – what are yours?

Disclosure: I was sent the bracelet in return for an honest review. All words and opinions are, of course, mine!

Such a pretty and poignant piece of jewellery Leigh. I love rose gold jewellery too and like you I’m a firm believer that life is too short not to wear our best or use our best every day. *thumbs up* X
