As I Look Out of the Window…

As I look out of the window

The world is grey:

For the past few days no sunshine, no warmth.

All feels downcast.

As I look out of the window

My world is grey:

For the past few weeks more struggles, more challenges

All feels melancholy.

I look out of another window

The world is grey:

Yet interspersed with bursts of colour.

There is hope.

The world out of this other window

Shows colour can break through the grey:

It is not one or the other.

They can coexist.

Sometimes I look out of the window

Too much grey.

I close the curtains:

The world can wait.

When I am ready:

I shall open the curtains

I shall look out of the window

The world can be grey, or it can be bright

With strength, courage, resilience.

I look forward to reading your posts Leigh. This has reminded me of the dreadful modern office I used to work in in Leith. Grey sky. Grey sea. Grey battleships. Grey walls. Grey desks. Grey ideas. Grey people. Ugh.

Wonderful Leigh, just wonderful. Luisa is right, so much resilience in this. I felt very hopeful as I read it. Thank you so much for sharing with #ThePrompt and so sorry for the very late commenting this week!
