A Silver Star

Once

You were but a twinkle in our eye.

During

You brought a sparkle to our lives.

Then

You shone brightly out towards the world.

After

You joined the stars in the sky.

Now

When I look at the stars I see you shining, still.

Always

You are with me, on the silver star that hangs around my neck.

So beautiful and positive, the structure makes it very powerful. I wish I could write sparingly at times – I tend towards the verbose!
