I’m very proud and delighted to have reached the shortlist of the Tommy’s Mum’s Voice Award, sponsored by Seraphine.
The award “celebrates a mum who has spoken out about her own experience and given hope to others.”
It is in recognition for the work I do in Hugo’s memory – raising awareness of HELLP syndrome, premature babies, and baby loss. Fellow bereaved parents, as well as those who have not lost a baby and health professionals have got in touch to say my writing has touched them, and helped them too. Being able to make a positive impact from my loss is a small comfort.
A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to write in support of my nomination – some of you sent me a copy of what you wrote, and Tommy’s included some in their email to me too – they made me rather emotional!
Being shortlisted is a huge honour for Hugo’s Legacy, and #MatExp.
There were some wonderful bloggers in the longlist, and it is a privilege to have been named amongst them.
I have been invited to an awards ceremony in London on March 11, where the winners of the awards will be announced.
