How Long Is Forever?

How long is forever?

Since the beginning of time

Until the end of time

I will love you forever.

How long is forever?

‘Forever’ is a misnomer

You, we, I do not have forever

Time is finite.

How long is forever?

A promise that cannot be kept.

Because we do not know what will happen tomorrow.

The things we cannot control.

How long is forever?

Time is never-ending in trauma and sorrow.

It seems to go slowly at least.

It is forever.

How long is forever?

A false promise made.

Forever ever?

OutKast never meant to make Ms Jackson’s daughter cry.

How long is forever?

Time is infinite

You are but a tiny dot in the universe

You gaze in wonder.

Enjoyed this. The short lines were punchy and the mention of Outkast gave it a contemporary twist (though I guess it’s been 15 years since it was a hit – scary!!)

Thanks, Susie! Yes it’s scary to think that OutKast song wasn’t really last week like we like to think it was… 🙂 xx

Wow, I love this, such raw emotion. The contrast between big, infinite, time and our personal, finite time is very powerful. Thank you so much for sharing with #ThePrompt x
